International Snow Leopard Day: 23rd October, 2020

International Snow Leopard Day is observed annually on 23rd October. The day is observed to raise awareness on protecting and preserving the endangered Snow Leopard on the planet. This day was first observed in 2014. The Snow Leopard is a large cat that inhabits alpine and subalpine zones in the mountain ranges of Central and South Asia. Snow Leopards are known as the “Ghosts of the Mountains” because of their solitary and elusive nature. To create awareness among school students HP ENVIS Hub organized two online activities Online Painting Competition and Online Slogan Writing Competition. Both the competitions were divided into 3 categories: Category-1 (1st – 5th Class), Category-2 (6th – 8th Class) and Category-3 (9th – 12th Class). The various entries submitted by the students were evaluated by the committee constituted.
